Letter to the Editor: Measure U for students and teachers

It always amazes me how some people can be so tight-fisted when it comes to school funding.

Kids are a community’s biggest and most precious asset, but some people just cannot let themselves commit to funding this treasure.

We need Measure U to pass because our school facilities are old and run down, and to keep good teachers here in Truckee we need better conditions for them.

Measure U is a good deal for our community, especially those of us that live here, because a lot of the money generated will come from out of town second home owners.

Measure U is asking for a very nominal amount of commitment and it is for the centerpiece of our town. How can you not support it. Vote yes on Measure U.
