Letter to the Editor: Principals support reconfiguration

We, the undersigned are administrators of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District and would like to take this opportunity to express our support of the TTUSD School Board’s decision to re-configure the lakeside schools. This decision addresses the question, and#8220;What is best for all of our students?and#8221; As a result, it provides the opportunity to create a more efficient use of resources, addresses long standing weaknesses in our school system, and enables educators to work in teams towards the best educational practices for all students.

We strongly feel that the effort to recall the Board members is NOT in the best interest of the Tahoe Truckee Community. Given the economic challenges that face our community, the $100,000 this may cost could be put to better use. The emotion and angst that is dividing our small community needs to stop. Remember, the whole is greater than the parts.

As an administrative team, we will work diligently to ensure that all students receive the best education possible in a safe, caring environment.
