Letter to the Editor: Skeptical of house loan for police chief

I think the argument that loaning the police chief money to buy a house will somehow instill his loyalty is a load of hogwash.

I don’t like to see public funds used to enrich a chosen few. In fact, this seems borderline criminal. I have to believe the chief should be able to afford a house using the salary the town is paying him.

Why can’t he come up with his own down payment like the rest of us working poor? Who is the next public employee we can’t live without?
