Letter to the Editor: Where’s the Sugar Bowl protest?

The story swooning over Daron Rahlves and Sugar Bowl’s new Mount Judah chairlift begs a question: Where was the dog that didn’t bark? Where has the and#8220;Save Donner Summitand#8221; crowd, which obviously includes the Sierra Sun editorial staff, been?

Two years ago we were told that the slightest lift/housing development by Royal Gorge would utterly destroy Donner Summit’s pristine wilderness aspect, and now this expansion has gone through without the slightest public notice or mention in these pages.

Apparently the and#8220;Save Donner Summitand#8221; crowd mostly consists of non-Royal-Gorge property owners intent on reserving development prerogatives in Donner Summit for themselves.
