Local leadership program looking for candidates
Staff reportsThe North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program, a collaborative project of the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and the North Tahoe Business Association, is looking for candidates for its second year class.The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for 25 of the area’s emerging leaders to build their leadership skills, while becoming more familiar with the problems, challenges and opportunities facing the Truckee and Tahoe region. This comprehensive curriculum will develop informed, involved and knowledgeable community leaders prepared to address these challenges.Workshops will be facilitated by Lisa Beutler from Sacramento State University Center for Collaborative Policy. Highlights of the business-oriented curriculum will be “best business practices” and contemporary executive organizational and leadership materials. The program runs for five-months, one full day a month. The day will be integrated with approximately one-third of the time spent on regional issues and two-thirds on leadership skill development. The 2005 Leadership Program will begin Jan. 26 and meet the last Wednesday of every month through May 25. Workshops will be held at various locations throughout the Truckee/Tahoe area.Businesses will benefit from their involvement in this informative, thought-provoking program by developing well-rounded and newly energized employees. In addition to learning new and valuable skills, participants will meet and share ideas with other vibrant and dynamic leaders from the area. The networking and development of long-lasting business relationships provided by the program will be invaluable.The tuition fee for the Leadership Program is $750; some partial scholarships will be available. Deadline to submit application is November 19, 2004.
