TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – Lucky, Dog Day in the Park’s good will ambassador, presented a $9,000 check to the Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (W.A.R.F.) on Dec. 24, 2012. Lucky would like the community to know W.A.R.F has funds available for spaying and neutering, behavior/obedience training and to help with emergency vet care, as well as other medical needs for your pets. Please contact Connie Nowlin at 775-831-1730 or the Tahoe Vista shelter at 530- 546-1990 for information on applying for these funds.
This donation was made possible by the generous sponsors, participants, vendors, attendees and volunteers of Dog Day in the Park 2012. In total, the event raised more than $15,000 to benefit W.A.R.F, the Tahoe Vista Animal Shelter, future Dog Day in the Park events and the building of the Tahoe Vista Dog Park.
W.A.R.F. kindly gifted $1,000 to the building of the dog park and made a promise to do more in the future. Final costs to build the park are still being estimated and will depend on site selection and design. To date, Dog Day in the Park has $2,000 set aside for the project.
