Martis Camp Home Tour to highlight architectural diversity

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Spend an afternoon exploring five one-of-a-kind custom homes in Truckeeand#8217;s Martis Camp and help raise money to benefit local schools during the fourth annual Excellence in Education Luxury Home Tour Sunday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Excellence in Education has partnered with the Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors for this event that showcases a group of distinct homes. Discover many of the latest trends and creative ideas in luxury home building, as envisioned by a handful of the regionand#8217;s premier architects, builders, designers and landscapers.

These unique designs will be a draw for this summerand#8217;s home tour.and#8221;



Home tour participants will have the opportunity to explore the different homes and Martis Campand#8217;s newest amenity, The Lookout Lodge. Discover a five-bedroom retreat featuring a yoga tower loft, expansive bunkroom and a creatively designed double-sided fireplace between the living room and a viewing balcony. Wander through a 5,600-square-foot home built with rustic waned-edge siding and 1,300 square feet of custom outdoor decks and terraces surrounded by a free-flowing series of waterfalls, streams and ponds throughout the landscape. The tour also offers access to a six-bedroom residence designed with an octagonal dining room, distinctive wine cellar and kids play loft.

Proceeds from the Home Tour benefit quality public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Money raised goes directly into the school district via Excellence in Education Foundationand#8217;s grant and teacher training programs and Martis Campand#8217;s Community Foundation.



Tickets for the tour are $40 per person in advance, $45 day of event and may be purchased at Dickson Realty, Tahoe Exclusive Properties and Tahoe Mountain Resorts offices in Truckee, Better Homes and Gardens in Tahoe City and at http://www.ExinEd.org. Tickets purchased online will beheld at will call. Hours for the tour are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with the last tour departing at 2 p.m. Food will be available for purchase after the Tour at the Martis Camp Sports Pavilion. Martis Camp is located near the Truckee Tahoe Airport, off Highway 267 at the end of Schaffer Mill Road. Please follow the event signs to Martis Camp where guests will be directed to a designated parking area in the Martis Camp community.
