McClelland to exhibit artwork at Soule Domain

CRYSTAL BAY and#8212; Cathy McClellland, a longtime resident and artist of the north shore at Lake Tahoe will exhibit her artwork at the Soule Domain Restaurant Aug. 11 through Sept. 30. Artist reception will be Wednesday, Aug. 11, 4-6 p.m.

McClelllandand#8217;s work encompasses many themes, from the ethereal and magical, scenes of Lake Tahoe to lush jungles, deserts and places in between. One of her fondest themes, inspired by living at Tahoe are the animals, especially the bears. Her intention is to create the magical and innocent qualities of the bear. The spirit and plight of the wild mustangs is another subject that speaks to her heart. Other themes and inspirations come from her journeys to sacred and mystical places. Which result in paintings about stone circles, fairy glens, dream temples, meditations, animals, nature spirits, angels and messengers. The cycles of the moon, the medicine wheel and how it all relates to our cycles in life is also present in many of her creations. Whatever inspires her heart and soul comes through the canvas or board that she is painting. Her medium is acrylic.

The Soule Domain Restaurant is located at stateline next to the Tahoe Biltmore, Crystal Bay. For more information 546-7529.
