‘Meet the Farmer’ at the Village at Squaw Valley

The Village at Squaw Valley is hosting its very first Meet Your Local Famer farmers market event May 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This one-time Spring event will offer an opportunity to meet Suzanne Peabody Ashworth, author of Seed to Seed, and owner of Del Rio Botanical, an organic farm in the Sacramento Valley which provides produce to more than 60 restaurants and shops in the Tahoe Basin. She will share her experiences growing more than 800 varieties of organically-certified vegetables, herbs and fruits annually. The farmers market will be located across from Mamasake Sushi andamp; Sake Bar in the Village. Put on in conjunction with Produce Plus, http://www.produceplus.net, owned and operated locally by the Habeger Family, The Villages first ever Meet Your Local Farmer Market will feature produce from at least 10 local organic farms with Slow Foods Lake Tahoe on-site.
