New Catholic priest and mass schedule for Truckee and Kings Beach

Effective July 1, 2009, the Rev. Matthew Blank was appointed parochial administrator of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Truckee, replacing the Rev. Stanley Poltorak, who was appointed pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Rocklin. The Rev. Matt has served as parochial vicar of Good Shepherd Parish in Elk Grove since August 2007. A native of Walnut Creek, he studied for the priesthood at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio and was ordained in June 2007 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento.

One of Fr. Mattand#8217;s first tasks will be to implement new mass schedules starting the weekend of July 25th for Assumption Catholic Church in Truckee and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Kings Beach. The new schedules will be in compliance with the ecclesiastical law of the Catholic Church that limit the number of masses celebrated by one priest to three per day.
