New networking group for tech-people in the Tahoe-Truckee Region
Silicon Mountain is a new networking group for people in the Tahoe-Truckee region working in the technology field. The group was initiated by Dr. Johannes Ziegler, serial entrepreneur, currently working on the launch of http://www.always-icecream.com, a social learning games platform for 7-12 year old girls.
and#8220;Within weeks of moving to Truckee, I met several and#8216;Silicon Valley typeand#8217; entrepreneurs and tech people, but there were no tech-focused local networking events,and#8221; says Ziegler. This is how the idea for Silicon Mountain was born. The purpose is to network both online and at in-person meetings, get to know local people whoand#8217;re involved in technology businesses, learn how others run technology companies in the and#8220;mountains,and#8221; share job opportunities, exchange business ideas, and more.
Silicon Mountain groups have formed both on LinkedIn and on Facebook where members can stay in contact. The first meeting will be at the Truckee Hampton Inn Saturday, May 8, starting at 8:30 a.m. and is sponsored by TekSystem, a Technology Staffing and Services Company. The attendance fee of $8 per person will include breakfast.
For more information and to RSVP for the May 8 event please write to TahoeSiliconMountain@gmail.com.
