New pastor joins church
The Truckee Lutheran/Presbyterian church is welcoming new interim pastor Rev. Jim Heinemeier.
He has been a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for 42 years, serving congregations in Enfield, Conn., Detroit, San Francisco and Reno.
“My wife Irene and I are very excited about coming to Truckee,” said Heinemeier. “The people at the Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian are warm and welcoming. I view the coming together of these two mainstream denominations to form a vibrant congregation as a positive and vital sign to this lovely community.”
Pastor Heinemeier will be leading a Bible study on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Senior Center and 7:30 to 8:30 at the Assembly of God church, on Highway 267 across from the Best Western motel.
Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian church services and Sunday school are held each Sunday morning at 9 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.
For more information call the church at 582-4343.
