Note from the Superintendent: So many great things to celebrate within TTUSD

Dear Parents and Community Members — we have a lot to celebrate in Tahoe Truckee!

We have the privilege of recognizing 114 of our employees for their years of service within our district.

These employees have an impressive combined total of 1,640 years of serving our youth, and we’ll be recognizing them at our Board of Education meeting on March 1.

I am extremely grateful for the positive difference they make each and every day in the lives of our scholars.

A few weeks ago, the Board of Education passed a resolution recognizing our school counselors and National School Counseling Week. Our school counselors are an integral part of our academic team.

They make a big difference in our students’ academic success and National School Counseling Week provides a great opportunity to show them our appreciation.

Thanks to the generous support from our community for Measures E and U, we have three exciting facilities improvement projects that will be underway beginning in June.

On the Lakeside, the Tahoe Lake Elementary project will begin this summer. In Truckee, the Truckee High project as well as the Donner Trail project will be in full swing.

We will be hosting a series of community meeting to keep the community informed about these and our other Measure E and U projects. To stay informed on the projects and their timelines, please visit our website at

Believe it or not, it’s time for parents of young children to register their children for kindergarten and transitional kindergarten.

All of our elementary schools will be hosting Kinder Preview nights in the next month so parents can learn more about the schools and their unique programs. The dates are posted on our website at

Ski Skate Week will be a little different this year. We look forward to seeing many of our students who will be joining us for the make-up days on-site!
