Obituary: Jerry Dean Collar

Jerry Dean Collar, 56, passed away the evening of Wednesday, July 1, 2009 with his family by his side.

A service was held Tuesday, July 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Incline Village, Nev.

Jerry was born June 19, 1953, in San Francisco, Calif., to Harvey and Anita Collar.



He grew up in Sonoma, Calif., with his brother, Larry, and sister, Laura, and attended Sonoma High School. In 1971 Jerry then moved to Boston where he attended the Berklee School of Music and met his wife, Jeanne Pacheco. They were married on Feb. 7, 1976, in Watertown, Mass.

Jerry moved to Lake Tahoe in 1979, where he made Brockway his home and worked as a general contractor for 30 years.



Jerry loved music, especially playing the harmonica and guitar, working on his house and spending time with his family. He is remembered for his strength, generosity and his big heart.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Matthew; mother, Anita; sister, Laura; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded (in death) by his father, Harvey; and brother, Larry.
