Obituary: Joan M. Zam

Our beloved mother, Joan M. Zam, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 25, 2009.

Joan was born in Toledo, Ohio, and spent 30 years in Los Angeles, Calif., before relocating to Truckee, Calif., to join her daughters. She was a brilliant artist who loved painting and drawing. She also loved working on her ’67 Mustang GT. She had a captivating beauty that could bewitch anyone, including her beloved husband of 47 years who was anxiously waiting for her in heaven.

She is survived and greatly missed daughters, Renee Grennan, Corrie Northan and Laura Zam; son-in-laws, Paul Grennan and Mike Northan; grandchildren, Natalie and Joey Grennan; sister, Evelyn; nieces, Michelle, Lisa and Julie; and a very large extended family in Toledo, Ohio, that were important in her life.

A celebration of her life will be held for her family and friends on July 31 at 11 a.m., at the Assumption Church in Truckee, Calif.
