Obituary: Rene Helen Edwards

Rene Helen Edwards died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 13, 2000, after a brief illness. Rene was a resident of Tahoe City since 1979. She was born August 30, 1961 in San Rafael, Calif.

She was very active in the community volunteering at her children’s schools, as a Cub Scouts den mother, a Girl Scout troop leader and many years at the Tahoe Community Nursery School.

Rene is survived by her daughters Michelle Edwards and Jamie Knight of Tahoe City; son Sterling Edwards of Tahoe City; father Alec Bernadsky of Santa Rosa; sisters Diane Kerrigan of Tahoe City, Irene Hamacher of Sausalito, Teresa McDonough of Cotati, Jeanette Pufford of Napa and Camille Martin of Spokane, Wash. and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and family members.

If you had the honor to be touched by Rene, you were touched by an angel. Rene will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Tahoe City Baptist Church. Rene will buried next to her mother and brother at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been opened under the name Rene Edwards Children’s Fund at U.S. Bank in Tahoe City.
