O’Dette Mortgage Group’s Lending A Hand awards grant to Truckee Trails Foundation
TRUCKEE/TAHOE, Calif. – Truckee Trails was awarded a $4,000 grant from the Lending A Hand Campaign organized by O’Dette Mortgage Group. The grant was set up to encourage local businesses to pledge money for a local nonprofit with O’Dette Mortgage Group matching the total contributions. More than 30 local businesses and individuals donated close to $2,000 and the partners of OMG, Teresa O’Dette and Ephraims Schwartz, matched that amount.
Twenty-two nonprofits applied for the fund through an application process that included specifying a project in 2010. The Truckee Trails Foundation’s initiative to complete the Legacy Trail project to Glenshire received the most votes by the donors.
“We were amazed by the number of quality applications we received and are so proud that so many organizations are working towards improving our community.”, said Teresa O’Dette. “Although Truckee Trails was the ultimate recipient, we learned a great deal about the current needs of so many of our nonprofits.”
Allison Pedley, executive director of The Truckee Trails Foundation, had this to say: “The Truckee Trails Foundation is deeply appreciative of O’Dette Mortgage Group for organizing this grant for local nonprofits, and we are honored to receive these funds. Completion of the Legacy Trail to Glenshire is our top priority right now, and these funds will help make this community asset a reality for the entire community.
Local businesses who have made a pledge to this fund include: Mark Guthrie and Trixie Schultz of Westface Financial Group, Linda Granger, Jean Ludwick and Trinkie Watson of Chase Realty, Kim Heslin of Tahoe Real Estate Group, Ken Gracey of Parallax, the Schaller Family of Dickson Realty, Truckee Tahoe Medical Group, Bill and Nora Leeder and Karen Bremer of Prudential, Keller Williams, Elaine Durazo of Coldwell Banker, Susan Ewry of Keller Williams, Julie Motamedi of Rocky Ridge and the entire team at Pacific Crest Properties.
