One Love Child Care focuses on feelings of safety, security

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – One Love Child Care in Truckee extended their condolences to Connecticut tragedy victims by sending out loving cards of hope to each family. One Love’s owners Lydia Griffin and Sarah Walton made a pledge to become a part of the solution by helping children at a very young age to learn how to grow independently with love, self respect, and empathy.
Griffin and Walton hope with these practices in place, children will feel safe and proud to go to school. They are reminded how this tragedy hit close to home as they watch the center’s little infants and toddlers growing and playing together each day.
“Every child in this country deserves to grow up feeling safe and secure in a school setting,” the owners said. Sending out a card to each family who lost a loved one is so little in the big picture, but they know as teachers all it takes is a small group of people to make a difference in a community. By sending their love for community and children to Newtown, Conn., they hope to create a sense of national community. They know at One Love raising children in a supportive community family is what will help solve many problems America faces.
By educating children with awareness, giving them hope and confidence in themselves through independence and faith, and simply being present in their lives as a positive role model, One Love will help our children grow up feeling safe and secure.
They believe if we all work together as one we can make this happen. If you would like to send condolences, write to Messages of Condolence for Newtown, PO Box 3700, Newtown, CT 06470.
