TRUCKEE, Calif. – One Love Child Care is a large in-home family daycare in Sierra Meadows owned and operated by Lydia Griffin and Sarah Walton. One Love Child Care is taking enrollment for infants and toddlers ages 6-weeks to 3-years-old, open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They offer a developmentally appropriate center based program with a variety of activities on a daily basis including arts and crafts, science projects, cooking, dramatic play, circle time, singing, dancing, yoga, fine and gross motor activities, tummy time, and much more.

Their daycare is California State licensed, both providers are first aid and CPR certified. They are charging a flat rate for the full day of $55 and provide a morning and afternoon snack and well-balanced lunch. One Love will be taking drop-ins when space is available. The drop-in rate for enrolled families is $65 and for un-enrolled families it will cost $80 per day. Sarah has been in the child care industry for more than 10 years working with infants for five years at a California dually accredited center in Roseville. She was also a before and after-school teacher in Roseville for three years. Last year she moved to Truckee to be a pre-school teacher at Playdate Preschool where she met Lydia.

Lydia and Sarah bonded over their love for children and wanted to help the community, where there was a great need for infant and toddler care. Lydia is a credentialed elementary school teacher who taught in the public schools for three years in Maryland and Reno, Nev. She moved to Truckee four years ago and became a before and after school teacher and preschool teacher at Playdate.

Sarah and Lydia love to guide the children through exploration to enhance independent growth. They enjoy taking the kids outside where they can actively learn through socializing and play. Sarah loves to design art projects around hand and foot prints, for example she turned white foot prints into ghosts for Halloween. Lydia actively leads a daily circle time filled with singing songs paired with fun dance moves the kids can follow.

Sarah and Lydia created the name One Love to cultivate their belief that through love we are all connected and through the power of love we can grow in a healthy way to create a nurtured child and a caring community. They are located in Sierra Meadows at 10610 Martis Valley Road. Call 530-562-6007 or visit They invite you to stop by the daycare to check it out!
