One Stop Business & Career Center to celebrate National Customer Service Week

TAHOE/TRUCKEE -Nearly everyone is in the customer care business. Whether you answer phones all day, tend to patients, teach students or help prepare payroll, you have customers. The One Stop Business & Career Center and Truckee-Donner Chamber of Commerce invite Truckee businesses and agencies to join them in celebrating great service and service providers.Nationally, Customer Service Week, to be held Oct. 3-7, is an event devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service and honoring the people who provide great service. It was started by the International Customer Service Association in 1988 and is always the first full week of October. “This year’s theme is Refresh, Recharge, Reconnect,” said Christine Hoxsie, staffing specialist at the One Stop. “In today’s economy, businesses are doing more with less and expectations are high. Providing excellent service is more important than ever. Celebrating and focusing on service is a great reminder how the small things add up to loyalty and customer retention.”Expect the Best Customer Service WeekSecret Shoppers are out and about prepared to catch great service in the act! Winners will receive a certificate of excellence and a gift donated by a local business. Customer Service Boot Camp: Refresh, Recharge, Reconnect is a one-hour, fast-paced session geared to revisit key skills with all staff. Boot Camp will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. at the Larkspur Hotel Truckee – Tahoe, 1131 Brockway Road.Cost is $20 per person.
