Open spaces: 2010 Tahoe ARTour
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; As the skies clear and days warm, turn your gaze toward art. You, your friends and family can come, relax and spend a day or more exploring the talents of 32 emerging or established local artists during the 17th annual juried and#8220;Tahoe ARTour.and#8221; The North Tahoe Art Center will again host a free self-guided tour of 32 member-artists’ studios. View, enjoy and perhaps purchase original art. To whet your appetite and set your course, the North Tahoe Art Center will kick off this annual event with an artists’ reception, July 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Tahoe Art Center in Tahoe City, including music and refreshments. Enjoy an art piece, meet and talk with participating artists.
There is a diversity of mediums featured this year: oil, pastels, acrylics, and watercolor paintings, as well as ceramics, wood marquetry, photography, glass, wood totems, silk painting, sculpture, multi-medium designs and wearable art. The juried process helps insure the quality of work will be excellent.-
For the third year by popular demand, ARTour occurs during two weekends, allowing ARTourists more studios time at a comfortable pace. ARTour is free and open to the public July 9-11 and July 16-18, Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the opening reception, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 2010 Tahoe ARTour is hosted by the North Tahoe Art Center, Tahoe City and attended participating artists. Geographic areas of the tour include Tahoe City, West Shore, North Shore, King’s Beach, Incline, Truckee and Glenshire. Booklet/Maps can be obtained at the Art Center, Tahoe and Truckee area grocery stores, the North Tahoe Conference Center in Kings Beach and the Chambers of Commerce in Truckee and Tahoe City.
