Opinion: Concerned with being charged to drop off trash at Incline Transfer Station
Rarely are we out of town on “garbage day,” but the other week we were. On March 11, we tried to drop off the garbage that has filled our trash compactor at the Incline Transfer Station, only to be told there would be a charge.
I guess we missed the fine print in the new Waste Managememt contract. The free drop-offs served to encourage people not to leave their trash in the outside dumpster when they leave town. We do not have secure outside storage for garbage.
Having a charge is counter-productive. And, yes, there were large bear prints in the snow this morning.
