Opinion: Hospital should not donate to Truckee aquatic center

I could not agree more with Lore’ McLaren’s April 21 Sierra Sun opinion article, “Donating to Truckee aquatic center poor use of taxpayer money,” in regards to the possibility of the hospital donating to the aquatic center.

Tahoe Forest Hospital District’s (TFHD) number one priority is to provide safe and excellent patient care to the district. Rural hospitals are facing continuing rising costs of providing care and decreased reimbursements as well as recruitment and retention of high quality clinicians and staff.

The money would be better spend elsewhere.
