Opinion: Ideas for Highway 28 improvements at North Tahoe

I read the very well written and informative article in the Bonanza on Dec. 25 regarding the Highway 28 improvements, and specifically regarding the intersection of Hwy 28 and Country Club Blvd.

In my capacity I have occasion to pass through this intersection many times each week and am always disturbed by the take-no-prisoners attitude of many of the left turning northbound drivers who cut in front of the southbound straight or right turning drivers.

So, since this wonderful upgrade is still apparently in planning stages, I would like to recommend to NDOT that signage warning drivers of the proper yield protocol. This would hopefully have a moderating affect on this busy and contested intersection.

I also would like to commend NDOT and Washoe County Roads for this upgrade and especially for the improvements to the crosswalks here in Incline. Thank you all for your good work.
