Opinion: Isn’t it great to be here at Lake Tahoe?
The other morning, my two-and-a-half-year-old, Nash, was singing “Happy Birthday” then added, “Isn’t it great to be here!” I couldn’t help but pause because I’ve been wanting to write to share out about all the love, support and beauty that always surrounds and feeds us in Tahoe.
On May 22, my family and I went to Tahoe’s Connection for Families’ sixth annual Tahoe Teddy Bear Picnic. This was our third picnic and I was, once again, so pleased with the community gathering. Everyone was so happy, children (and adults) enjoyed being outdoor Tahoe kids!
For Memorial weekend, we went to Squaw. My husband, Art, made some final turns for the season as Nash and I enjoyed time with pals. We soaked up all the offerings of the Made in Tahoe Festival. We loved the music and art performances! It was amazing to see so many cool things and talents, all native to this great place!
Two weekends ago, Art and I enjoyed a beer tasting at Alibi Ale Works that we purchased at a TCF fundraiser. Once again, the sun shone and laughter was shared. Kristi Thompson, Alibi Cicerone serving as our hostess, shared stories of the generosity of our community. We also spoke of “oneness” as we mentioned individuals and companies always donating and sharing time, whether with friends, local nonprofits, or growing businesses.
Each weekend, everyone was friendly and smiles were all around; opportunities were given and beautiful weather enjoyed. It was an all good vibe, each time. Let the good times roll as the sun shines on, free music surrounds us, and kindness is shared. We are so blessed! Isn’t it great to be here?!
Peace and love,
