Opinion: Questions, thoughts about recent Legacy Trail opinions

My thoughts on some recent letters regarding the Truckee River Legacy Trail.

Are the Legacy Trail and the bike path trails not governed by the same rules (i.e. Yield to Wheels)? If not, then we need to get together so that all of these trails are the same or it leads to confusion.

As to your dogs running free, and not cleaned up after — why does your dog have more rights than people (who may or may not pay taxes)?

As to alerting people on the trail that you are passing, it is my experience that most people are in their own little world — lots with headphones, and therefore cannot hear anything else — which is why you should walk on the left, and maybe pay attention to what is going on around you.
