Opinion: Thank you, North Tahoe Fire, for saving my life

I am writing this letter to your newspaper to commend and thank both the North Tahoe Fire Protection District paramedics and Dr. Jeanne Plumb (and her resident physician) for saving my life.

Three weeks ago I entered the Truckee Tahoe Medical Group Offices in Tahoe City with chest pains. Dr. Plumb and her staff understand the seriousness of my situation and acted quickly. They brought in NTFPD immediately as I would need transport as soon as possible.

As I was unconscious during most of this incident my wife and daughter were amazed at how hard Dr. Plumb and the NTFPD paramedics worked to keep me alive until I could reach a hospital in Reno.

The professionalism and compassion of all of these medical/emergency providers was directly responsible for my survival and a positive outcome for my family.

God bless and protect these fine men and women. You are lucky to have these professionals in the North Tahoe area.
