Opinion: Thanks to Fred Findlen

We would like to take this opportunity to recognize Fred Findlen and his family for their selfless contribution to our community. Fred was recently promoted to General Manager of the Hyatt Regency in Kanapali on Maui. Jayne will be staying here until February.

He has donated rooms at various Hyatt hotels, spa treatments and dinners at the Lone Eagle for our Rotary Fundraisers, most notably, the Geno Auction, which provides money to needy families here in town to pay for rent, utilities or food, no questions asked.

He has also donated rooms for our annual raffle and most recently the Battle Born Beer Fest, which 100% of the profits go to support local scholarships, education programs and grants. He has allowed our Rotary club to continue to host its weekly breakfasts at the Hyatt, as well.

He made available the Hyatt for the IHS Crab Feed which raises money for our local schools. He held The Wine on the Water fundraiser which supports the Boys and Girls Club. He and his wife Jane were enthusiastic member of the Boosters.

He donated $5,000 to the Butterfly Effect in support of young adults suffering with thyroid Cancer.

The Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline is making a donation to Build On in Fred’s honor, a service club that Fred’s daughters Tori and Maddie were members of while attending Incline High School. This club does projects around the world to help families improve their living conditions. As a community, we would like to thank Fred again for his selfless contribution, support, and friendship.
