Pack it in, pack it out

I would like to know what happened to “pack it in, pack it out” rule. I have been walking China Cove two times a day to walk my dog. I bring bags with me to pick up the trash left behind by people who visit there.

I just can’t believe the amount of trash I have collected just since April this year. I can understand the fact that there is not enough money to pay state parks employees to pick it up. But I can’t understand why we pay them at all. I have watched many of them just standing around and/or driving around not doing anything except talking or just wasting gas.

I watch many of them pass up the trash on the ground, not bothering to pick it up. Why is this? And town of Truckee employees — look at our streets. Just what are they doing for their paycheck? Not picking up trash, that’s for sure.

I’m elderly and disabled so can’t pick up as much as I want to. If I could, the streets would shine just as bright as our stars do. The state and county should ask their employees to truly work for their money. And not just suck hours of pay for doing nothing.

We are being covered in trash in Truckee on our streets and in our parks. Start giving out littering tickets. That could mean a lot of money to Truckee. And people — do you really think Truckee has a poop bag fairy? For God sakes — take it with you.

I myself have placed bags for trash at the gate to China Cove. I change them two times a day, so please use them for your trash and poop bags. And I will take care of them myself. Thanks.
