Patterson is featured artist

Staff reports

Truckee photographer Sarah Patterson is December’s featured artist in the North Tahoe Art Center’s upstairs gallery. The center is located in Tahoe City at 380 Lake Boulevard, next to the fire station.

Her one-person show will open with a reception Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a small jazz group will entertain.

Patterson’s opening is held in conjunction with the annual “Hollyart” show in the downstairs gallery. “Hollyart” is a two-week boutique (Nov. 24-Dec. 10) featuring works of local artists in all media, a popular destination for holiday shopping.

New images from Patterson include a series of photographs from the lush lavender fields in the Sonoma Valley. Pattemon works in photography and multimedia, using weavings, and wire and bead overlays on macro photographs. She creates what she calls “dimensional photography,” in addition to her classic photography pieces.

Patterson was recently juried into the corridor gallery at Tahoe Forest Hospital. She is also a member of the Gift Shop Gallery at the North Tahoe Art Center, where her work can be seen on an ongoing basis.

Patterson’s photographs also appear on a new San Francisco-based website for fine art photography, http://www.YourWall.com.

Further information about the center or the exhibit is available by calling the art center at 581-ARTS, or at their web site, http://www.TahoeArtists.com.
