SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The 19th annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire (www.valhallafaire.com), Californiaandamp;#8217;s most acclaimed Renaissance themed event, invites you and your crew the yearly invasion of the faire by the andamp;#8220;Brethren of the Sea.andamp;#8221; There will be sword fighting, pillaging, plundering, and of course, grog swilling. Welcome the hordes of pirates and privateers, gypsies and barbarians for a full weekend adventure for kids of all ages! Set in the background of 16 century Elizabethan Village, and in addition to the pirates, there will be jousting, court intrigue, numerous period demonstrations, great shopping and a treasure hunt sponsored by Theme Actorandamp;#8217;s Group. Every year for the two first weekends in June Camp Richardson, 1900 Jameson Beach Road, South Lake Tahoe is transformed to a delightful Elizabethan town filled with the myriad characters and vignettes resembling those of Shakespeare’s plays we so dearly love. Hundreds of costumed entertainers, artisans, crafters and merchants create an experience unlike any other. The faire features more than four stages of continuous entertainment, Queen Elizabethandamp;#8217;s court, Shakespearian plays and vignettes, expertly staged battle scenes and theatrical performances, a lively crafts marketplace, storytelling for children and adults alike, dancing, archery tournaments and much more. There will be merchants selling a wide array of arts and craft including jewelry, woodcrafts, artwork, ceramics, clothing, hats, accessories and historic weapons. And to top it all off, a hard-hitting joust performing twice daily.Pirate andamp; Barbarian Hordes Invade June 11 and 12! Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for seniors, military, and ages 13-17, and $7 for children 6-12.
