TAHOE and#8212; Four students from North Tahoe High School were selected to participate in the Northern California Honor Band in Arcata, Calif. The band was comprised of the finest musicians from Highway 50 to Sacramento to the Oregon border. Carly Leininger was number one alto saxophone, Andrew Hill was number one bass trombone, Mark Heisinger was number six trombone and Zoe Thompson was number two tenor saxophone. The three-day event was conducted by Professor Wickes, director of bands from Louisiana State University, retired and culminated into a fabulous concert. I am so proud of these students for achieving such high marks.

From Feb. 17-20, we have the honor of sending Andrew Hill to participate in the California All State Jazz Band. Though Andrew has been to All State before as a concert player (2010) nobody from North Tahoe has ever made the All State Jazz Band. Andrew becomes the first student to achieve every honor available in California with his acceptance to the All State Jazz Band. His Honor Band list includes, Sierra College, Northern Section, Capitol, Cal Poly, All-Northern, Northern California, All State Concert Band and now the All State Jazz Band. Congratulations Andrew. You have done a remarkable job here at North Tahoe High School.
