Police reports are taken from the Truckee Police Department and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office logs for Jan. 5 12.Jan. 5• At an unspecified time a woman reported that her unlocked vehicle had been stolen two days earlier from a stall in her apartment complex. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system.• At 8:01 p.m. on the 10900 block of Alder Drive, two occupants were found in a stolen vehicle and both were arrested on suspicion of theft.Jan. 6• At 6:45 a.m. on Beacon at Alder Drive a juvenile reported that a man who was acting strangely offered him a ride. Two other juveniles also reported the strange man offering them a ride in the same area. Officers took a report.• At 11:15 a.m. on the 11700 block of Donner Pass Road a juvenile was found to be in possession of a film canister with marijuana residue in it by school staff. The juvenile was suspended from school but no further police action was taken.Jan. 7• At 12:13 p.m. on Tundra Drive an incident involving a snowblower and a dog was documented.• At an unspecified time a vehicle was stopped for driving without proper chains during snow conditions. The driver was found to be unlicensed and uninsured and was given an citation. The vehicle was towed and the driver and other passengers were given a courtesy ride.Jan. 8• Sometime during the night an anonymous caller reported an intoxicated driver had just left a local gas station. An officer in the area followed the driver and pulled him over after an observed vehicle code violation. The officer found the driver under the influence of alcohol and arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving.Jan. 9• At 8:45 p.m. Truckee police units responded to a fight in progress in the parking lot at 10700 Highway 89. Upon arrival an officer saw a suspect punch a victim and arrested the suspect on suspicion of fighting in public. A report was taken.• At 9 p.m. on the 11400 block of Donner Pass Road a vehicle was observed leaving a local mobile home park. The driver was known not to have a valid driver’s license and the vehicle was stopped. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and the vehicle was towed.Jan. 10• At 1:32 a.m. on Donner Pass Road near Donner Memorial State Park an officer noticed open containers in a vehicle during a traffic stop. The officer searched one passenger and found ammunition on his person. A search of the vehicle turned up a partially hidden pistol on the back seat. The driver was arrested on suspicion of allowing the firearm in the vehicle and the passenger was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded and concealed firearm.• At 7:32 p.m. on the 10000 block of Donner Pass Road a bar/restaurant manager reported that an intoxicated subject was refusing to leave. When officers arrived they found a male subject intoxicated to a degree that he was unable to care for his own safety and he was arrested on suspicion of drunkenness in public.
