The following police reports come from the Truckee Police Department and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office logs from July 7 to July 14.July 7• At 1 p.m. on Alder Drive a custodial crew found vandalism to the Alder Creek Middle School. A classroom had been broken into and ransacked. Trash cans were overturned and light bulbs were broken.July 8• At 10:50 p.m. a woman was arrested for biting her husband’s thumb during and argument.July 9• At 3:49 a.m. on West River Street residents reported a half-dressed man knocking on the front door of a hotel. The man was drunk and arrested by police.• At 5:51 a.m. on Highway 89 North a 17-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence after allegedly rolling her vehicle over on the highway.• At 5 p.m. on Prosser Village Road a construction crew reported that their tractor was stolen. The tractor was located and a report was taken.July 11• At 4:41 a pickup truck struck a four-year-old boy riding a tricycle. The boy was pronounced dead at Tahoe Forest Hospital.July 12• At 9:07 two men brought a woman, who was bound by duck tape on her wrists and ankles, into Safeway. The group apparently left the store and witnesses report the woman being thrown into the back of a vehicle. When police investigated it appeared the incident may have been a prank.
