Project MANA: Letand#8217;s talk turkey
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Project MANAand#8217;s annual Thanksgiving distribution for families in need will take place Saturday, Nov. 19. Last year, 600 households were able to provide a Thanksgiving meal for their families, thanks to the communityand#8217;s generosity. Because of the economy, Project MANA is expecting to serve even more families this year. Distributions in Truckee, Incline Village and Kings Beach include a frozen turkey and all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
For $25 you can sponsor a family, send checks or donate online at http://www.projectmana.org/donate. Donations of turkeys are also appreciated. Drop-off points for donated turkeys are the Project MANA office at 948 Incline Way in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Nonprofit Center, High Sierra Gardens Nursery and, in Truckee, at the Community Food and Resource Center, 10111 E. Street. Donated turkeys need to be received by Nov. 18. Turkeys received after this deadline will be used for the Christmas program with churches. For more information, please contact Project MANA at 530-582-4079 or 775-298-0008.
