Rabbi Bob Alper to entertain in Tahoe Vista

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Alper is a graduate of Lehigh University, was ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and is the first Jewish person ever to earn a doctorate from the Princeton Theological Seminary. He has served congregations in Buffalo and Philadelphia, where he continues to conduct High Holiday services.
Alper began his comedy career in 1986 when he entered the and#8220;Jewish Comic of the Year Contestand#8221; at the Going Bananas club in Philadelphia. Television, radio and personal appearances followed as he quickly honed his distinctive approach to stand-up. He has been seen on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Showtime, the BBC, and CNN, among many others.
Today, Alper performs nearly 80 shows per year, drawing tremendous audience numbers and response. His humor is fast-paced and sophisticated, yet gentle and unhurtful: all in all, a charming and affable comedian. In addition to his solo shows, Alper performs frequently in an extraordinary pairing with Muslim comedian Azhar Usman.

Alper resides in rural Vermont with his wife Sherri, a psychotherapist. They are empty-nest parents of Zack and Jessie.
