Readers Write: McClintock attacks ‘outrageous’

The new line of attack by the Tom McClintock campaign against Charlie Brown’s patriotism is just another swift boat-style attempt to shift focus from the facts.

The outrageous ads released on September 16 are designed to soil Brown, depicting him as a radical liberal who “stands against America.” Of which, none of these claims are true.

Where does Tom McClintock stand?

With the veterans, whose benefits he denied (SB 513; AB 1666, 306)?

With our seniors, whose healthcare he threatens to take away by extending the definition of pre-existing conditions from 12 months to 10 years (SB 1669)?

With our district, a place he has never lived and never plans to?

With the constituents, who he will serve only until the next election in 2010 when he will run for California Lieutenant Governor and the Board of Equalization (San Francisco Chronicle, 7/11/08)?

Can Tom McClintock, a man who has never served anything other than his own political interests, claim the patriotic high ground against Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Brown?

This November, I plan to stand with a true patriot, Lt. Col. Charlie Brown, and I urge you to do the same.
