Real Estate and Construction Update | and#8216;It is good news!and#8217;

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The May 8 Good Morning Truckee will provide a 2012 Truckee/Tahoe residential real estate and construction update. Attendees will hear from three industry experts including:

Christine Richardson, president Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors. Christine will briefly discuss the state wide market, the regional market, then focus on the Truckee, Tahoe Donner and Donner Lake markets (comparing 2010 to 2011, and discussing the first third of 2012). Some may be surprised to learn that it is actually and#8220;good news.and#8221; Christine will also touch on the impact of distressed properties.

Ephraim Schwartz, partner and mortgage consultant from Oand#8217;Dette Mortgage Group will talk about how the mortgage market relates to the and#8220;bottom of the market;and#8221; the present and future of mortgage rates; and refinance and purchase program guideline requirements.

Pat Davison, executive director of CATT (Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe) will look at building trends (recent past up to today) and current status; indicators for future activity such as plans in design or number of permits pulled; types of work being done and where the hot spots of activity are; and overview of the construction industry such as number of licensed contractors, sales tax revenue from construction, and more.

Good Morning Truckee is open to the public and#8212; everyone is invited and#8212; the second Tuesday of every month at the Truckee Tahoe Airport, 7-8:30 a.m. Price at the door for general public is $10; Truckee Donner Chamber members $8 and includes a continental breakfast.
