Reno wildfire: Squeeze In offers help for community, media
LAKE TAHOE and#8212; In response to the devastating Caughlin Ranch Fire, both Reno, Nev. locations of the Squeeze In are serving complimentary refillable beverages all day today, Friday, Nov. 18, to all guests.
and#8220;Restaurants tend to be a community hub in emergency situations, and the Squeeze In is already providing comfort and a place for warmth and gathering during this emergency,and#8221; owner Shila Morris said. and#8220;This is my hometown. I was born and raised here, graduated from University of Nevada, Reno and I’m raising my kids here. Our family wants to assist in any way we can and the first thing our family talked about this morning is how we’ll put together a fundraiser. We love Reno!and#8221;
Members of the news media are also invited to eat free today, either to-go orders or in house, no restrictions.
and#8220;We understand the intense demands on media during emergencies such as the Caughlin Fire,and#8221; said Shila Morris. and#8220;Everyone depends on continuous updates from the media, we need information and you need nourishment. We’re here to help.and#8221;
Additionally, the Squeeze In is already planning a fundraiser to be held at the south Reno Squeeze In location, the date and time will be determined once the Caughlin Fire has been put out.
and#8220;This is our community. These are our neighbors, our friends, our guests. We’re here to serve,and#8221; Morris added.
Squeeze In at three locations
Squeeze In is open daily, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Its three locations include 5020 Las Brisas Blvd. and 25 Foothill Road in Reno, Nev. and 10060 Donner Pass Road in Historic Downtown Truckee.
