Resort at Squaw Creek hires director of sales

Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Hotels andamp; Resort-managed property, has hired Cory Carlson as director of sales for the 360-room resort located at the base of Squaw Valley USA, five miles from Lake Tahoe. Carlson will oversee a sales team of five sales representatives, plus a support team. andamp;#8220;Iandamp;#8217;ve known Cory professionally for many years andamp;#8212; through his days in Colorado and Lake Tahoe andamp;#8212; and he brings with him a wealth of knowledge about mountain resorts,andamp;#8221; said Les Pedersen, director of sales and marketing for Resort at Squaw Creek. andamp;#8220;Weandamp;#8217;re thrilled to welcome him to the team.andamp;#8221;Previously, Carlson served as associate director of sales at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nev. Prior to working in Incline Village, he held several positions at the Park Hyatt Hotel and Spa in Beaver Creek, Colo. andamp;#8220;Iandamp;#8217;m delighted to have landed at one of the nationandamp;#8217;s top ski hotel resorts at the base of one of the great mountains, Squaw Valley USA,andamp;#8221; said Carlson. andamp;#8220;Resort at Squaw Creek has so much to offer to group and leisure guests alike, and I look forward to promoting the resort.andamp;#8221; Carlson, a former member of the U.S. Ski Team and the World Pro Ski Tour, also spent time on television as a color commentator for ski racing.
