How long has Project MANA owned the van? About three years. How did you pay for the vehicle? We were saving for something and we finally got enough to get something decent. East West Partners and the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation helped out so we put their logos on the back door.Where did you buy the vehicle? The (Project MANA) board members did an extensive search and found it in Michigan. It had low mileage, refrigeration, shelves and it was diesel. It was exactly what we needed.Did you have to do any repairs to the vehicle? No, all we did was put the logo on it.How has it affected the work you do at Project MANA?Its been really nice to have. Before, everyone was tearing up their own car by doing deliveries. (The food) gets (their cars) dirty and things spill. How many miles have you put on the van?About 30,000. The farthest we go is Reno for food pickups and Truckee and Squaw Valley for distributions. Its busy everyday. How much food can you store in the van?Id say 10,000 pounds easily.Has it been busy for Thanksgiving distributions? We picked up 400 turkeys at the Kings Beach Safeway, Save Mart in Tahoe City and Raleys in Incline Village last weekend. The cool thing is I can leave them in the van because its insulated and they stay frozen. It saves a lot of loading and unloading.
