Ride of the Week

Ryan Salm/Sierra Sun

It’s a GMC Yukon 4×4. We bought it in Los Angeles, four days after we arrived in L.A. we bought it used.

This is exactly what we were looking for, mainly because it’s huge! It is exactly what we pictured ourselves driving and would be embarrassed to drive anything else, especially when all other Americans drive such large autos. It will impress our friends back home. The fact that we bought it in Inglewood and it looks gangster is icing on the cake.

Definitely the big after-market pimped-out grill and the after-market interior limo lighting.

We bought it in order to road trip the western United States. It’s our first time here and we are planning to rock climb from Yosemite to Tahoe to Bishop to Joshua Tree to Red Rocks, Nev., to Moab to Boulder to the Tetons and up into Canada including Vancouver, Squamish and up to Banff. In Banff we stay for the winter and then make our way climbing through the northwest of the states back to L.A. The final bits will be left open to chance. Who knows where we’ll get stuck.

Yes, “Ranger Stacey” because it’s a bush-bashing man and named after an iconic ranger from an Aussie TV show.
