Ride of the Week

We wanted to do something different when we were appearing on Animal Planet a few years ago.

I was brainstorming when I was looking through Toys R’ Us for props. You can get one for around $40. A lot of times kids see it and they want to play with it. There is also one that looks like a police car and we thought it would be cool to have it pull over the other car.

I have discovered people like dogs to do things that make them look human.

About six months. One of the dogs, Rio, is sitting while the other, Chiquita is pushing [the car].

I rigged the floor so (Rio) did not fall through and drilled holes in the door and attached a looped-rope so the door could be opened with a paw.

They were both rescued from shelters when they were 18 months old.

The main message we want to get across is there are a lot of good dogs in shelters waiting to be adopted and the breed of the dog doesn’t matter. We like to show what you can do with dogs that people have given up on. If they get exercise and mental stimulation they won’t have bad habits.
