Roast on the Range: Girls on the Run benefit at Truckee’s Shaw Family Farms

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Delight in the sharing of locally-raised, seasonal foods as Moodyand#8217;s Bistro Saturday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m., Executive Chef Mark Estee and Chef de Cuisine Guy Frenette roast a Berkshire hog raised in pasture at the small, sustainable Shaw Family Farms in Truckee during Roast on the Range.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Girls on the Run and#8211; Sierras, a life-changing, nonprofit prevention program for girls in the third through eighth grade. Their mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.

Tickets are $100 per person, and include a mouthwatering dinner prepared by Chefs Estee and Frenette, wine, live music and tours of the local farm. A free butcher demonstration will be held that Saturday morning, 9 – 10:30 a.m. on the back patio of Moodyand#8217;s Bistro, 10007 Bridge Street, Downtown Truckee.
