TRUCKEE, Calif. – Princess Kaya Hainsworth dances with Mommy Maura Bannon at the 2011 Summer Music Series kick off in Truckee Wednesday. The family just moved to Truckee from San Diego to raise their daughter in a small mountain town. “We love Truckee,” said Bannon. The Bourgeois Gypsies rocked the “Salty” Gebhart Amphitheater with swamp pop and countrified blues. Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District Superintendent Dan O’Gorman introduced the band and thanked the week’s sponsors: Truckee-Tahoe Medical Group, Tuff Beans and The Weekly. Donations for the free music series are always appreciated. The series continues each Wednesday 6:30-8 p.m. through Aug. 24. Find photo gallery at sierrasun.com/photos.
