Save Thomas Jefferson Hour

How can it be that just as we lament over our collective lack of knowledge about the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the electoral college, and the workings of democracy, we are going to lose the one radio show that addresses these very topics?

“The Thomas Jefferson Hour,” broadcast from KUNR-FM in Reno, may end this summer. David Gordon, manager of the station, says the station plans to cancel the show as of June 30.

Clay Jenkinson, the host of the show for six years, takes the persona of Thomas Jefferson to comment of the events of the day and events in the time of Jefferson. As fans and listeners know, this is an easy and delightful way to learn our about American democracy.

In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, the community must create a groundswell of support for the show. Call or write KUNR-FM in Reno and tell them you want Thomas Jefferson and Clay Jenkinson.
