Share your views on fireworks’ future

Everybody has an opinion about the future of the Donner Lake Fourth of July celebration.

Keep it. End it. Change it. Variations on all have been expressed in letters, comments to town council and guest columns.

If you have an opinion, today is your chance to share it and have it recorded in a public forum.

Council member Maia Schneider and Town Manager Steve Wright will host the meeting, and everyone will have a chance to speak.

Public safety officials will explain their concerns about the event, and will listen to suggestions from the public.

So turn out and share your opinion. It’s important for the town and other agencies on hand to know whether the the public supports the decision to end the fireworks next year – and your words could make a difference.

The forum will begin at 4 p.m. in the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District boardroom on Donner Pass Road.
