TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Sierra Aero, owned and operated by Jeff and Jessica Fay, just opened at the Truckee Tahoe Airport, offering aircraft maintenance, airplane rentals and flight instructions. The company operates an updated Cessna 172, complete with glass panel and the latest technology in avionics. Jeff Fay is an Aandamp;P/IA mechanic and a certified flight instructor. He’s also currently serving as a National Guard CH-47 helicopter pilot. His wife, Jessica, will act as manager of the business, which also employs two other mechanics. Both Jeff and Jessica are originally from Europe, and have lived in Truckee for the past 12 years. The family just moved back after 1.5 years at Fort Rucker, Ala., where Jeff completed his army helicopter training. Skiing and flying is what made them choose Truckee as their home and place to raise their 3-year-old son Andy. The Fay’s welcome the public and airport tenants to an open house, April 6, 3-5 p.m. to enjoy some light refreshments and meet the staff of Sierra Aero. For information, contact Jessica at 530-FLY-TRK1, 530-448-1567, jessica@flytruckee.com or visit http://www.flytruckee.com.
