Sierra Human Resource Association receives award and offers social media seminar

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in Alexandria, Va. awarded the Merit Chapter designation to the Sierra Human Resources Association (SHRA) of Tahoe Truckee for its scope of work in perpetuating and supporting the mission of the organization in 2009.

SHRM is the worldand#8217;s largest association devoted to human resource management, serving the needs of HR professionals. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 250,000 members in 140 countries with 575 affiliated chapters.

SHRA is one of 20 chapters receiving the distinction in SHRMand#8217;s Pacific West Region.

and#8220;It is SHRAand#8217;s privilege to provide professional resources, networking and educational opportunities for HR professionals, students and the local and regional business communities,and#8221; noted Kathy Chan, SHRA President.

The Tahoe/Truckee Chapter receives a Certificate of Recognition, a specialized banner to display at its meetings and events, and is being recognized in SHRMand#8217;s publications and conferences.
