Sierra Sun salutes Truckee Tahoe birthdays and anniversaries

I (Susi Lippuner) will be celebrating my birthday, July 27, with my friend Eve, whose birthday is the day after mine. I will be going to the ARC program poetry reading July 28 to support the youth and the program. It is taking place with a 6 -7 p.m. reception and 7-9 p.m. poetry reading at the Cedar House Sports Hotel in Truckee. and#8220;There are things in life that call to us, and they are ours to do.and#8221; and#8212; Alice Walker, author of and#8220;Overcoming Speechlessness.and#8221;

Greg and Mary Margaret Rankin, of Tahoe City, celebrated their 28th anniversary Saturday, June 26, 2010 at home with a very nice meal, a good bottle of wine and an evening of listening to music. They were married in the back yard of an and#8220;Old Tahoeand#8221; cabin in Tahoe Park, on a beautiful sunny day in 1982 and have lived in Tahoe City continuously since that date. Greg Rankin of Tahoe City also celebrated his 66th birthday July 4 with a family barbecue at home and then enjoying the concert and the fireworks at Commons Beach in Tahoe City.
